CURRENT NEWS AND EVENTS JANUARY, 2013
FRIDAY, JANUARY 4, 2013
Jesse attempted to phone me again in the wee hours on Thursday…but there was the same technical issue with his phone which disconnected his call before we could speak.
But, thankfully, he was able to get his call through to me very early this morning and, though the connection was not the best, we were able to speak for a few minutes. He is doing OK. He asked me to be sure to express his thanks to those few people who, because they have direct contact with me, were able to send some gifts to him for Christmas. Also several people sent along small gifts for Jesse’s little neighbor friend, Nick. Jesse appreciated that so much. Jesse mentioned some of these people by name to me when expressing his thanks…because of threats etc. I cannot list their names here but those of you who did these things for Jesse and little Nick will recognize that it is you to whom he extends his appreciation.
I must be away from the computer for most of this weekend, next week, and perhaps some of the next week. Our remodeling is getting into full swing and the worker’s will begin tearing out the existing kitchen and some of the dining room at 8 AM on Monday 7th. My computer workstation is located in the area which is being remodeled so it must be temporarily relocated during the work. I will try to monitor the Blog Page and the Messages to Jesse Page at least several times a day.
I apologize to everyone that, during this time, I won’t be able to respond to comments nor Emails. Any aggressive or antagonistic comments posted on the Blog and/or Messages page, will be immediately deleted as soon as I become aware of it…with no acknowledgement whatsoever.
Thank you all for your understanding during this busy and stressful time for us.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 5, 2013 @ 12:56 AM
I had not heard about this event until just now when I saw it in a news alert in my Emails. Of course, this event was to be held tonight (Friday) and Saturday night. Thought it would be of interest to my visitors because of the connection to the DVD ELVIS FOUND ALIVE.

Elvis Presley Birthday Celebrations to be Held in Memphis and Tupelo
Date(s) – 01/07/2013-01/08/2013
Elvis Presley Birthplace
Free public events celebrate the 78th birthday of the King
TUPELO, Miss—Special events are scheduled in Tupelo and Memphis to celebrate Elvis Presley’s 78th birthday.
The celebration will begin Monday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bijou Theatre at Graceland Plaza. Roy Turner, a Tupelo historian, and Elvis’ childhood friends, Sam Bell and Guy Harris, will share stories about Elvis’ time in Tupelo. The program will be facilitated by Memphis Jones and will include a screening of the film “Tupelove,” that plays as part of the Elvis’ Tupelo exhibit currently on display in the Bijou Theatre. A performance by the Tupelo Unity Choir will conclude the program. Tickets are free and are required for this event. They are available in Graceland’s ticket pavilion.
The celebration will continue Tuesday, January 8 in Elvis’ hometown of Tupelo. Birthday cake will be available at the Elvis Presley Birthplace at 1:00 p.m., and will be followed by the premiere of the Tupelo Unity Choir video in the Elvis Presley Birthplace Theatre. The film was commissioned by the Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau, and was created by Roy Turner and John Wee. Immediately following the video, the Tupelo Unity Choir will perform.
“Elvis was greatly affected by the blues and southern gospel music that he heard as a child in Tupelo. We commissioned this video to showcase the same music that was such a powerful force in Elvis’ success,” said Neal McCoy, executive director of the Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The birthday celebration will culminate with the lighting of the Elvis’ Homecoming Statue, unveiled in August, in the Fairpark District at 5:30 p.m. The lights were donated locally by Philips Day-Brite. Mayor Jack Reed, Jr., representatives from Philips Day-Brite, and members of the Elvis Presley Fan Club will participate in the ceremony.
For more information on any of the birthday events, please visit www.tupelo.net.
Founded in 1985, the Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau’s mission is to promote Tupelo as a viable site to visit in the State of Mississippi; to provide support for tourism-related projects; and to educate and assist the public regarding tourism development, which will result in increased tourism revenue and a positive image for the City of Tupelo. URGENT NOTICE TO AMERICANS!!!!!
I have just become aware of a very serious threat to our freedom here in the USA. I received the following Email. I have visited the links within the Email and they are valid and legitimate. I want to make everyone aware of this and ask that you pass it on to everyone you know and participate in a movement to squelch this horrible change to our constitution.
You may recall that I worked so very hard to warn voters that Obama’s agenda is to abolish elections and become the dictator of America.
The first tiny step to that end is now in the works.
PLEASE DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THIS ABOMINATION.
What a bold move, to ALLOW this to happen opens our country to further corruption and tyranny…If you love your FREEDOM make it known and STOP this amendment in its tracks. Please make viral to inform the sleeping public of the fate of their country unless they take an ACTIVE PART in maintaining their freedom.
Subject: THE MOST URGENT INFO OF OUR TIME
Well folks, this has been predictable and I have been certain from the start (2008) that this man intended to be the LAST president. While we are being distracted with his massive gun grab move (four bills already submitted since Jan 1, 2013) he is quietly making a MOVE TO ABOLISH THE 2nd AMENDMENT to set up his permanent DICTATORSHIP http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/113/hjres15
H.J.Res. 15: Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

At first glance it appears that this bill stands little chance of passing. However, the seeds of socialism or communism can take root and grow in small steps. Remember the holocaust.
Jesse phoned me a few minutes ago and wanted to let me know that he is leaving on a long trip for a few days. I want to let everyone know that he is doing fine. He again reiterated his appreciation to everyone who sent him gifts for Christmas and his birthday…as well as gifts for his little friend, Nick.
Although his phone sounded better, we still had some difficulty having a conversation because of the “wrecking crew” working here in our house (LOL)…but we managed to speak for a little while. He tried to call me at 1:43 AM but the phone was doing it’s thing and we didn’t get to speak so he called back this morning.
My husband, my hero, has gotten our computer and workstation temporarily set up in a section of our house where I can have some limited use of it while the construction is going on. I still won’t be using the computer nearly as much as usual with all the traffic and distractions, etc. But, I will be monitoring the Message board and blog and will post when I can.
Thank you for all of your patience and understanding for the next while.
Here is a great photo of Elvis from the time before he was “ELVIS!!!!!”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR JESSE,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
Below is a nice review of Lisa Marie’s most recent album “Storm and Grace”. This is from GOLDMINE MAGAZINE.
Album review of Lisa Marie Presley’s ‘Storm And Grace’

Lisa Marie Presley
“Storm and Grace”
Universal Republic/XIX Recordings
Apparently, the name of Lisa Marie Presley’s last album, 2005’s “Now What,” was more than just another title; you could also see it as an admission that Presley didn’t know what direction to go in next — which makes her new album, “Storm and Grace,” that much more of a pleasure. By waiting until she was absolutely sure of what she wanted to do, Presley has made her strongest album to date.
By her own admission, Presley has had a difficult time over the last few years, watching the sad decline and death of her former husband, Michael Jackson, as well as being surrounded by people who she now says did not have her best interests at heart. She relocated to England, working with musicians like Richard Hawley (from Pulp), and Fran Healy (from Travis), but the biggest turning point came when T-Bone Burnett became the album’s producer. Together, the two have come up with the kind of warm, organic sound that insinuates itself on first listen.
There’s a haunting broodiness to the album (the words “smoky” and “swamp rock” have frequently popped up in reviews) that makes it utterly beguiling. By stripping away the pop sheen of her previous albums, Presley has really been able to dig down into her heart and soul. There’s a darkness throughout the record — it couldn’t be otherwise, with songs that deal with troubled relationships and betrayal — but Presley’s is the kind of anger that’s all the more powerful for being low key. When you take the time to listen to the words, they really sting.
A terrific album from a singer who’s finally coming into her own.

Below is an excerpt from an article regarding some Elvis items which were sold in an auction at Heritage Auctions’ Entertainment & Music Memorabilia Signature Auction on Dec. 14, 2012. Even though this has already taken place, I still enjoyed seeing and reading about it.
Elvis Presley was among the artists to use this microphone.
A KWKH Shure microphone used by Elvis Presley (among others) is also up for bid. The mic was used on Dec. 15, 1956, by Louisiana Hayride announcer Horace Logan when he first coined the phrase: “Elvis has left the building.” The pre-auction estimate is $10,000+.
Several pieces of jewelry owned and worn by Elvis also are featured. Items include a star sapphire and diamonds ring ($8,000+); a star ruby and diamond ring ($8,000+); and a Lord Elgin “Direct Read” watch ($8,000+). Two pairs of The King’s glasses (regular glasses and prescription sunglasses) also will be offered and are expected to bring $6,000 and up apiece.

Here is a very good article from Billboard.com for Elvis’s/Jesse’s birthday today.
Elvis Presley’s Billboard Chart Records
by Gary Trust (@gthot20 / firstname.lastname@example.org) | January 08, 2013 12:05 EST
On what would’ve been the King of Rock & Roll’s 78th birthday, a look back at some of his most impressive chart achievements.
The new DVD and music collection “Prince From Another Planet” documents when Elvis Presley finally exerted his power over New York City and sold out Madison Square Garden in the summer of 1972.
Elvis Presley wasn’t just the King of Rock & Roll. He remains Billboard chart royalty. On the anniversary of the birthday on Jan. 8, 1935, of the late icon (who passed away on Aug. 16, 1977), here’s a look back at five of his most impressive chart records.
108 Hot 100 hits, the most among rock artists in the chart’s history. Among all acts, only the “Glee” cast (205) and Lil Wayne (110) have inked more charted hits. Presley’s career, however, predates the Hot 100’s 1958 inception; he charted more than 30 song entries on surveys that chronicled popular music beginning in 1956. The King’s 104th Hot 100 hit, “Way Down,” originally peaked at No. 31 the weeks of Aug. 6 and 13, 1977. After dipping to No. 53, following Presley’s death, the song roared 35-24-21-18, marking his last top 20 track.
80 top 40 Hot 100 hits, the most such showings in the tally’s archives. Elton John ranks second with 57. On the first Hot 100, dated Aug. 4, 1958, Presley ranked at No. 4 with “Hard Headed Woman” and at No. 34 with “Don’t Ask Me Why,” each featuring his longtime gospel backing band, the Jordanaires.
126 Billboard 200 charted albums, the highest total in the chart’s 56-year history. Ten of those sets reached No. 1, beginning with “Elvis Presley,” which ruled for 10 weeks in 1956. His most recent reign came courtesy of “Elv1s: 30 #1 Hits” in 2002.
67 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the most time spent at the top for a solo act. Garth Brooks and Michael Jackson follow, each with 51 frames in charge. Presley’s longest reign? The “Blue Hawaii” soundtrack totaled 20 weeks at No. 1, beginning in December 1961.
Presley became the first rock artist to make two trips to the Hot 100 summit, as “Stuck on You” began a four-week command April 30, 1960. That song, recorded shortly after Presley’s discharge from the Army, followed “A Big Hunk O’ Love,” which led the Aug. 15, 1959, chart. Presley last perched atop the Hot 100 No. 1 with “Suspicious Minds” the week of Nov. 1, 1969. (In another sign of how much Presley and Billboard charts have been linked, that date doubles as Billboard’s birthday; the magazine first published the week of Nov. 1, 1894).

A brand new exhibit opened at Graceland on Elvis’s/Jesse’s birthday yesterday. This exhibit focuses upon his enjoyment of Hawaii and the times he spent there. Of course, this Jan. 14th is the 40th anniversary of the Aloha Show in 1973…a landmark performance which was the first ever show televised around the world via satellite.
Graceland premieres new exhibit on Elvis’ birthday
By Justin Hanson
MEMPHIS, TN –
(WMC-TV) – Elvis fans are celebrating what would have been The King’s 78th birthday with a new exhibit at Graceland.
Hawaii was considered one of The King’s favorite places.
Now, his favorite place is featured in a new exhibit celebrating the 40th anniversary of Elvis’ “Aloha from Hawaii ” concert.
“It’s the first broadcast that was seen via satellite worldwide. It was watched by over a billion people at the time,” Graceland Director of Archives Angie Marchese.
In addition to never before seen Hawaiian home movies, visitors can also see Elvis’ gold jacket he wore during his first Hawaiian concert in 1957.
Graceland officials say it gives fans a chance to get personal with some of Elvis’ items from one of his favorite places.
“He filmed three movies there, performed over seven shows,” said Marchese. “The big thing was it was a place for him to work, relax, take his family, vacation there.”
The exhibit ” Greetings from Hawaii ” opens at Graceland on Tuesday. It will be open to visitors for two years.

Jesse once told me about his having found a beautiful pearl inside a shell which he had chosen to pick up during one of his visits in Hawaii. He then sent it to me and, of course, I have it stored away safely in one of my safes. When I have a little time, I will locate it and post a photo of it with the little note which had been kept, by him, with the pearl all these many years. If I recall correctly it was found during the time he was in Hawaii doing the Aloha show.
If my memory serves me correctly, I also have an autographed article from his 1957 visit to Hawaii. I will have to look for that item also.
Also, there is the following article about the birthday celebration from the Washington Post’s Travel section:

Below is an article about some new features at Elvis’s birthplace in Tupelo. These were revealed on Jan 8th for his birthday.
Elvis Presley Birthplace
Published: January 09, 2013 Updated: January 09, 2013 – 1:32 PM
Two new statutes of Elvis Presley are part of phase two of his Tupelo birthplace’s $6.3 million expansion.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that the plans were unveiled Tuesday during the local celebration for the late rock ‘n’ roll icon on the day he would have turned 78.
A bronze statue of 11-year-old Elvis sitting on a milk crate will be placed at the overlook behind the birthplace. Behind him will be a bronze statue of Elvis the entertainer in full regalia, including a cape, with his arms outstretched and head tilted toward the sky. That’s the pose Elvis took when he closed his concerts.
Phase two also includes a nine-table picnic area that can seat more than 50 people and will include a fireplace and more parking.

The Edgar Cayce Thought For The Day today requires multiple readings…time to digest the words and the full meaning thereof…but, it shows us the proper perspective which we each must come to accept in our relationship to God, our fellowman, and a true understanding of ourselves and our place in the universe…God’s planned place for each of us.
My good friend, Tim, phoned tonight to tell me that he heard on Sirius radio that they are showing the film of Elvis’s Aloha From Hawaii show in the same arena in which he actually filmed the show. This is being done in remembrance of the 40th anniversary of the show. The person reporting on this, from the location, said that it appears that it is going to be a sold out event.
This is a beautiful example of how much Elvis is still loved by millions of people all over the world. No other person can begin to generate this same response from the masses after they have been retired (or actually gone from the earth) for over 35 years. Elvis is a wonderful gift to this world and he will never be forgotten nor will the interest in him and the hunger for more from him ever diminish.
Tim and I both remarked that we remember exactly where we were when we watched that show when it aired. It truly was a monumental occasion. It has been reported that more people all over the world watched that show than watched the first man walk on the moon.
I just burst with pride of him.

Once more we have sad news. John Wilkinson has passed away. My sympathy to his family and friends.
Elvis’ guitar player, John Wilkinson, dies in Springfield
John Richard Wilkinson, 67, a native of Springfield who became Elvis Presley’s rhythm guitar player years after meeting the King at concert at the Shrine Mosque, has died.
Wilkinson died after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends in Springfield.
According to his obituary, Wilkinson at the age of 10 sneaked into Elvis’ dressing room before a show and told Elvis, “you can’t play guitar worth a damn.” Elvis was amused and impressed and predicted they would meet again.
After playing in a high school band called “The Coachmen,” Wilkinson went on to play with such groups as The Kingston Trio, The Goodtime Singers, Greenwood County Singers, and The New Christy Minstrels.
He joined Elvis’ band at Presley’s invitation in 1969, according to the obit. Wilkinson played more than 1,200 shows as Elvis’ rhythm guitar player, right up until Presley’s death in 1977.
After that he played less music, and made a living in retail and airline services management. A serious stroke in 1989 left him unable to play the guitar. Nevertheless, for several years after that, he traveled the U.S. and Europe, appearing with the old TCB band and others, singing and paying tribute to Elvis.
He is survived by his wife, Terry. Cremation and a private graveside service will be conducted by Gorman-Scharpf. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the charity of donor’s choice.

I realize it is a few days late to post a birthday tribute, but this is particularly beautiful and I want to share it with everyone. This video is owned on YouTube by: Elviskingofhearts. This great lady has so many wonderful videos…I know everyone will enjoy visiting her channel on YouTube.
Elvis Presley-The Impossible Dream(78th Birthday Tribute!!!!!!)
As promised a few days ago, I did search into my treasures and found the two items which I mentioned in my article regarding Hawaii and Elvis’s work and pleasure trips there.
First of all, below is the pearl which Elvis found in a sea shell during his visit to Hawaii for the Aloha show. He told me over the phone about finding this pearl. I said to him “It was a miracle and was meant to be.” So wonderful that of all the shells he could have picked up, he chose one which had a pearl in it.
I also located the menu from one of Elvis’s visits in Hawaii. I was mistaken, though, the menu was not from his visit to perform the Aloha show. It was rather from his visit in 1957. The menu is quite large and so I cannot display it full size. Below are photos of the cover and the inside of the menu. This was NOT a gift to me from Jesse himself. It was a gift to me from our mutual friend who had bought it when it was sold in a lot of items which were from Elvis’s father’s home. It is a menu which Elvis used and then autographed for someone. However, because the autograph is 55 years old and was done with some type of ink which faded over time, the autograph is almost invisible even when looking at it directly. I will display an image of the autograph…but you will have to really, really look to even see any trace of it. It was inscribed: Best Wishes, Elvis Presley.
The item pictured in this next display is one of our most treasured gifts from Jesse. He sent this to my husband, Tom, a few years ago as a gift to him. It is such a precious artifact from Elvis’s/Jesse’s childhood. As you will recognize this is a little book about the Lone Ranger. Jesse said that this was found under a bed. There is written, in his own handwriting, that this book was “The property of of Elvis Presley“. As you will see he wrote this as a tiny child in pencil. This is such a precious treasure…one of his very first books, no doubt.
As you will note in the next image, this book was published in the year of his birth…1935.

Our friend, Bets, shared a link to some wonderful videos of Elvis on YouTube. This set of videos consists of some wonderful footage of Elvis during his Karate exhibitions. We all know that, at one time, Elvis wanted to make a movie about Karate. If I remember correctly, he had wanted Rick Husky to do work on his proposed movie. You may recall that, years later, Rick Husky went on to work on the “Elvis – The Early Years” TV series as co-executive producer. That show was the result of an idea which Husky and Jerry Schilling conceived.
I know everyone will enjoy these videos very much. My Thanks to Bets for sharing them with us on the Messages to Jesse page.

THE ENGLISH LOST THEIR GUNS AND THEN THEIR FREEDOM
I thank our friend, Ann, for sharing the above video on our blog page.
Also, I saw this article just today regarding the speech which was made yesterday by Pres. Obama. He says he can bypass congress if he has to in order to pass gun regulations…yet another executive order.
Listen to the citizens of England and be proactive to preserve our freedoms…first guns and then????
This from the New York Times:
President Barack Obama plans this week to present 19 separate executive orders on gun control and will press for comprehensive legislation to expand gun-purchase background checks, lawmakers made privy to the president’s agenda said Monday, according to the New York Times. …[Full Story]
There is something very disconcerting about the Aurora, Colorado shooting and that of the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. Compare the look on the faces and in the eyes of the two shooters:

On a much brighter note… 🙂

This Thought for The Day contains such important advice. We can’t live in this manner on our own because our human ego and emotions cause us to react differently when we come under attack. We can only ask God to strengthen us that we may behave in this manner toward others. A good daily prayer is as follows…I have read that this prayer takes care of everything we may face each day. Dear God, please grant me this day guidance, love, forgiveness and wisdom.

Here is a Feb. 1977 concert performance of “My Way”. This is a special performance for several reasons. Elvis’s spiritual comment in the intro. and the encore which he performs at the end when the audience wants more. I love this song because, to me personally, it was his farewell song and a clue to all of us about his plans for “the end is near”. I have noticed that in several performances of this song in 1977, he did special things to get people to pay attention to the words of that song. During his last tour, he said that he did not know the words to this song (even though he had performed it quite a few times while knowing the words perfectly) and said that he would have to read them from a sheet of paper. A little way into the song he discarded the paper. It is my belief that this was his way of getting people to pay attention to the words of that farewell song. I have never confirmed by belief with him so I don’t know for a fact if I am correct. “…and now the end is near and so I face the final curtain.”

I just received an Email news alert for the topic “Elvis Is Alive”. Upon checking this out, I find that this is a very highly suspicious advertisement for a FREE download book. It says that to receive it, you must fill our a brief survey, etc.
I feel 99.99% positive that this is a scam with the ultimate goal of obtaining personal information for some ulterior and dishonest money grubbing scheme.
Below is the message which I received:

When you follow the link to the YouTube video, there is no audio at all, just several photos of Elvis and the directions to their “blog” to get your free download of their book “worth thousands of dollars” in facts, etc.
I personally would not touch their advertisement with a ten foot pole.

Our friend, Bets, shared a link with me which led me to find this video of Elvis singing one of my favorite gospel songs. Of course, when it comes to Elvis singing, my favorite is whatever song I happen to be listening to.

Jesse phoned me late Friday afternoon. He only had a couple of minutes to speak this time. He had something he wanted to ask me and wanted to see how we are…and how our remodeling is coming along. He said he was feeling good today. As always, I was elated to know that he is all right.
I keep forgetting to post this news. In the now current issue of Readers’ Digest (February edition), there is an article about Elvis and Ann Margret. This article is a part of several love stories which the publication included for Valentine’s day. It is a very sweet story…
It is an excerpt from another Elvis book by Alanna Nash…an author for whom I have very little respect. She has written at least 3 books about Elvis. I only own one of her books. The one I have, she wrote through her interviews with members of the Memphis Mafia; namely Billy Smith, Lamar Fike and Marty Lacker. I have not read this book all the way through but saw enough to know that I do not care for her approach to the life of Elvis. I only bought this book because a very good friend directed me to one portion which is an account by Billy Smith and one of the other interviewees regarding the fact that Elvis told them his plans for faking his death.
I do like Ann Margret and enjoy seeing her in the very rare times that she has spoken of Elvis in interviews. She is a very classy lady.
Below is one of these very rare interviews:

I read the following comments by Neil Diamond about Elvis and enjoyed it so very much that I want to share it here with everyone. My thanks toMemories Of Elvis Presley Family And Friends who shared this on Facebook.
Neil Diamond talks about Elvis Presley. Neil Diamond : ‘Elvis Presley used to live next door and I remember how his little girl and my son would talk to each other through the link fence’.
Interview with Neil Diamond
Andrew Denton : I know Elvis covered ‘Sweet Caroline’ on stage.
Did you ever get the chance to see it?
Neil Diamond : I never saw Elvis perform ‘Sweet Caroline’. I did see him perform live in Vegas, I had never seen him before. You know, he was Elvis Presley and I was awed. He was an amazing, amazing live performer.
He was electric and he was wonderful and halfway through his show, he introduced me. I was in the audience and he introduced me and it’s like worshipping a god and that god is saying, ‘Oh, stand up. I like this person. World, why don’t you meet him?’ My God. So I stood up and the audience started to cheer and they started to say, ‘Get up on stage. You know, sing together’. No, I couldn’t possibly. It’s – and he saw I was uncomfortable with it. He said, ‘Well, he’s on holiday now, so leave him alone. Let him enjoy the show’. And they did.
Andrew Denton : Does a part of you regret that you didn’t take that opportunity to hop up and sing with Elvis?
Neil Diamond : You know I thought about it over the years, what would I do, what songs would we do, and it’s not a good idea to come up and sing with another performer when it’s their show and it’s their band, I do know that. And I’m glad I didn’t, because I don’t think it would have been a good idea to touch that, you know, the hem of the god. He was amazing. He was warm and very generous to me, and I think it’s best left at that.
Elvis recorded two Neil Diamond songs, ‘Sweet Caroline’ live in concert – the recording was included on the 1970 ‘On Stage’ album – as well as ‘And The Grass Won’t Pay No Mind’ at American Sound Studios in 1969, [For which Neil’s scheduled sessions were cancelled to fit Elvis in] the song was included on ‘Back In Memphis’.
Neil is so very right in this interview. You may not know that Ron Tutt went on to become Neil’s drummer after 1977.
Scientology founder’s great-grandson: ‘It’s one of the most brilliant and devious, systematic brainwashing systems that’s ever been invented’
‘Nastier’ part of Scientology kept from celebrities says founders great-grandson (Photos)

Jamie DeWolf, the great-grandson of Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, said during an interview that celebrities who embrace the religion are shielded from the “nastier aspects” of it, according to a Jan. 26, 2013 report.
According to Radar Online, he told Cenk Uygur of Current TV that Scientology is able to recruit new believers into the fold through “narcissism” because it promotes “a pyramid of self-mastery.”
DeWolf said potential recruits are told that they will one day reach God-like status and will have “telepathy, telekinesis…” and the ability to “move through space and time…” freeing themselves “from sci-fi imprisonment.”
He added that celebrities are given a “different flavor of it and a very different brand of Scientology… They’re insulated from the nastier aspects of it and also they’ve got the money… So they can move up this pyramid at a much quicker rate and they don’t get stuck in levels like a lot of other people, just constantly spending money.”
Jamie DeWolf, the great-grandson of Church of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, says celebrities are sheltered from the ‘nastier’ part of the religion.
Radar Online reports that DeWolf also said that the Church attempted to recruit Elvis Presley into the religion, but he declined.
Overall, DeWolf said Scientology is “one of the most brilliant and devious systematic brainwashing systems… ever invented,” noting, that no one ever accused his great-grandfather “of being an idiot.”

http://current.com/shows/the-young-turks/videos/scientology-founders-great-grandson-its-one-of-the-most-brilliant-and-devious-systematic-brainwashing-systems-thats-ever-been-invented I have read that Elvis was taken to meet with and observe some of their rigamarole and he left. When returning to the car, he told his people “All they want is my money.” He was absolutely correct. Thus proving his superior intelligence to many other celebrities and one of his own family members who was involved in attempting to recruit him.

Here is some food for thought…King David and Elvis…Both were “kings”, both played stringed instruments, both sang praises, Jesse was David’s father, David was just a boy when God endowed him with great abilities in the martial and musical arts. Also, David fled from his life and lived in exile for many years.
Psalms 56 (1956) is pretty much a narrative of what Elvis went through with the critics and negative media reports in that year… right up until the time he sang his first nationwide gospel song “Peace In The Valley” on the Ed Sullivan show on January 6, 1957.
Psalms 57 (1957) Psalms 57: 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Verse 9: I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

I have heard Gordon Stoker of the Jordanaires say that Elvis had his mind made up to sing that Gospel song. He said he had promised his Mama that he would.
That show was a turning point for him when Mr. Sullivan stood with Elvis and praised him for the fine young man that he was…saying they had never had a more pleasant experience with any performer.
I read Psalms 77 (1977) while correlating this scripture to Elvis’s notes which he wrote in his hotel suite during his last engagement in Las Vegas in Dec. 1976 when he was so weighted down in despair and feeling so alone…emotions leading up to August, 1977...
In Psalms 88 (1988 when Gail Brewer-Giorgio’s book called the world’s attention to the fact that Elvis did not die…the time when everyone was clamoring for Elvis to come forth publicly) there are phrases paralleling Elvis’/Jesse’s situation.
Psalms 88: Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave…Psalms 88:8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them; I am shut up, and I cannot come forth. Verse 18: Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.
Please do understand that I am not trying to start a controversial religious discussion. As I said, this is “food for thought“…God works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform.
Lo, that which is, was; that which is now, will be. There is nothing new under the sun.
